mother died.
Ever since that day she disappeared at 17 there was some powdered glass in her body and no one ever found out where it came from.
She was strange, my mother was. she would always talk of her husband Gambu and how being in the other world had changed her.
The sword of pink iron was always so dull, so the police never bother us about it and now it is all I have left.
It was a week after my mother's death and I was feeling sorry for my self, so I went to sleep on a park bench with the sword clutched to my chest.
I woke up that morning and new something was wrong as I stared up at a sun that was so black I felt my soul die a little, the sky was the color of fresh blood.
I was confused and disoriented so I ended up falling off the roof luckly I landed on a patch of dirt, I say lucky because the grass was like a polor bear's fur only it was glass.
A strange bird of blue landed on my head.
"Oh my my. what have we here?" a voice said
"ow" was all I could mumble as a response
The lady helped me up and I noticed that her voice sounded older than what she was, or at least what she appeared to be.
When we were face to face I was absolutely stunned. Her. Hair. Was. Red!!!
And don't think that it was a natural red but a bright flourecent red, her eyes were black, and . . . "Ooooh. So you must be Saple."
"Indeed I am, and you are -"
"Totally dreaming. after all things such as these couln't possibly be true"
"Now now dear Arica, it is time for me to take you in as I did unto your mother."
with out another word I followed her inside and was struck dumb at the sight of such a comfortable home. The walls looke as if they were painted with cherries, the sofa and tiny bed were a golden green, there in the corner was a perch of sparkling silver for her odd . . . bird. The kitchen was in almost the same room as the living room and bedroom (the house though small as it was held a remerkable amount of furniture and didn't look the least bit cluttered); was small and neat.
She made for me a porridge that smelled wonderful yet it tasted like blueberry syrup and apple jam. We ate in the living room since there was no room for a kitchen table, I must tell you that as I sat there on that couch I felt as though I were sitting on a cloud that smelled of strawberries and cinimon.
The moring was bright and, forgetting my place, I fell to the floor. From there I sprang to my feet as I heard the sound of someone knocking upon the open door.
In the door way a man of such shocking orange hair (seriusly! It was like staring at Naruto's jumpsuit), his skin reminded me of Enishi's hair, and his eye glowed like that of a claymore . . . only his were green.
I stared at him for quite some time, taking in his long lean muscular form, his honeysuckle sent, and my insides shivered from the air around him. Saple told him to take a seat while she made blueberry waffles.
"So you are Saple's new ward." said he and my god his voice was so rich and creamy, like chocolate and blue silk.
"You got a name??" I asked of him in my usual manner, to which he replied
"I am Gambu, Leader of the Jeeny people and son of Malik. Of who might you be?"
"Jeez I asked your name not your friggin history! Name's Arica, if you must know"
"Beloved daughter I am over whelmed from such joy of your return"
To this I didn't even have to respond for the waffles were done and after a thoroughly confused look I dug into my breakfast which tasted like . . . corn and peanutbutter? WTF kind of place is this where a girl can't even get a proper tasting meal?!
So apparently Gambu is my father and this is a world of which I am supposed to belong, however that remains to be seen.
Saple gave me a pair of old worn boots that weighed a ton! On the brightside my feet didnt get torn and ripped from the long walk out.
So Gamu and I got to talking a little, mainly because he talks like he's from the days of king Aurther.
The first thing I noticed as we left the strange trees of porcelain and ghostly colors, was that the sky looked as blood would if it could glow; I also noticed that the sun shone with such a lustrous black, like that of a polished stone of the same hue.
"I think you should like the Borya, it was your mother's favorite. So dark yet so bright, thanks to the emrald stones.
The elders were tinking of tearing it down if she sould not return but you, as our offspring, have the power to stop their way of thinking . . . why hasn't your mother come to call upon me?"
"She died while I was young and left only Kamru to my possession."
Gamu seemed hurt and stayed quite for quite some time, and for a while all the sound that was made was the crunching of clear glass under foot. Finally I had to break this heavy silence by asking a really stupid question.
"So, why is the sun black?"
As he answered I really wished that I had not asked it for the anwser was even more impossible than saying that god made it that way.
"The elders have always told stories of what once was. From these teachings I have learned that the Jeeny was the dominate race ruling the land of such deep greens and fresh produce. However this was not to last and one day an old bitter man went to the very depths of this world and absorbed all of it's power for only him self. Once the powers were taken from this planet it began to change. We had many bloody battles and lost many of our people. Thankfully the power could not keep the old man from aging and he died in his sleep, unfortunately the power had died with him and this is the land we must now live in."
"Depressing"
We walked in silence for the rest of the way, glass crunching under foot.
It was actually really cool, if you looked in the direction that you came from you would see the glass repairing it's self.
As we approached the cave the sword at my side glowed a deep crimson that swallowed my father and I. When the glow faded we were standing in my room and what do I see? a little skank in my bed on top a man. Needless to say I cut them in two where they bucked (I would have said laying, but that's not exactly what they were doing).
I got a blood test done and lo and behold he IS my father. Apparently I am only half human, the other is unknown.
We ate in restraunts mostly. It's kind of fun to be on the run.
You see my father did some things that got us a lot of money, but was also illegal. We sometime journey from one land to another and I wouldn't wish for any thing else.
